I set up Connect Retreats so that I could share with you my passion for fitness, the great outdoors and adventure – something that has changed my life for the better, and seen me quit city life for good. This year, I will be hosting my first Fitness Retreats down in the Pyrenees. It’s one thing to listen to what people say on social media and try and implement it on your own, but if you really want to be the best version of you and take your understanding of training to the next level… then come and join!

The Venue

Can Tillet

Mas Can Tillet is a renovated sheep and endurance horse farm set in a beautiful isolated, rural area in the foothills of the Pyrenees.

The farm is perched above the picturesque Catalan village of La Bastide at an altitude of 950m.

Occasionally at dusk, you can catch glimpses of the local wildlife including wild boar, deer and hares. If you don’t see some of the wild animals, you will certainly be surrounded by some of the farms many, dogs, cats, horses, sheep and cows.

Located between the snow-capped mountains of the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean beaches of Canet, Collioure and Argelès this is the perfect base for lovers of the great outdoors looking to “get away from it all” and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this stunning countryside.

We have built “off-grid eco yurts” for this year’s retreats. All are situated with stunning east-facing views where you will see the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea every day.



Wellness Retreat Itinerary

Day 1

After I have picked you up from the train station or airport, we will head up to Can Tillet. You will be shown your accommodation, and there will be time for a light lunch. We will start the retreat with a short hike where I show you the animals and beautiful land which the farm is situated on. At the end of the hike, there will be a mobility workshop.

Day 2

We will start the day with a short, and light trail run before breakfast. The rest of the day will feature a strength workshop, a long leisurely lunch, a mobility workshop and a metabolic conditioning session to finish off. Followed by dinner and pre-bedtime stretch and meditation session.

Day 3

Today is where we will spend most of the day on the mountain, we will head off on a circular trail run/walk stopping off at various points for mobility and meditation, then, at an abandoned mining village for lunch. After lunch, we will run down to my favourite swimming spot, a flowing mountain river for some cold water therapy. Back at the farm, we will finish off with a mobility workshop before dinner and then meditation and stargazing before bed.

Day 4

We will start the day with a longer mobility workshop before breakfast. The rest of the day will feature some strength training, thai-chi, and metabolic conditioning. In the evening we will have a special three-course meal prepared by my chef Rory.

Day 5

You will be dropped off at the airport or train station to return back to your normal lives, but with new insights and a fresh perspective on training and exercise.

FAQs

When should I book?

I offer discounts for signing up before certain dates, so the earlier you sign up the better your price may be. Check the specific trip you are interested in to make sure you sign up before the next deadline!

Do I need to book my own flight?

You are responsible for booking your own flight. Each trip will have suggested arrival and departure details based on when we know you need to be in the airport and you can always send me the itinerary before booking if you want to double-check it’s correct!

Where do I fly into?

Fly into either Perpignan Rivestaltes Airport (preferable) or Barcelona International Airport to then take a train to Perpignan Train Station. There will then be an airport or train station transfer to the farm. Any further questions? Email: info@connectretreats.co.uk

What fitness level do I need to be?

I welcome all levels of fitness, from beginner right to advanced. There are an infinite amount of progressions and regressions for every exercise in each one of the sessions we will do. I have 7 years of experience training men and women of all ages, sizes and fitness level.

I am travelling alone, will there be other guests travelling solo?

Yes, 80% of my guests travel on their own. It’s a really nice way to meet like-minded people and also to spend quality time on your own.

Do you cater to specific dietary requirements?

Yes, I can cater for Vegans, Vegetarians, Pescetarians, Dairy Free and Gluten Free.

Is there alcohol served on your retreats?

Yes, I source locally produced beer and wine to be enjoyed in the evenings.

What does a typical day of eating look like?

We enjoy three meals a day prepared by my amazing handpicked chef. The meals are mainly plant-based, with most of the produce grown on the land, or within a 50km radius. I do also offer locally sourced meat (sometimes reared on the land and always within a 50km radius). I cater for all dietary requirements so please let me know if you have any on the booking form.

Your retreats look very active, do I have to join in on every activity?

No, everything is optional but I recommend you join in the fun and try new things.

What’s included in the price?

All food, accommodation, activities, classes and transfers are included in the price. The only thing that isn’t included is your flights.

Do I have to pay the cost upfront?

I require a 25% deposit on booking and the remaining 75% 60 days after booking. Alternatively, I can help set up a payment plan for you.

Do I share the yurt with anyone else?

Each yurt will contain 2-3 single beds, so you will be sharing each yurt with one or two other people. Each bed will have its own privacy curtain. If you are a couple, there will be the option of putting the single beds together and hiring the whole yurt.
